100 KVA Heat Treatment Centre |
|
The Heat Treatment Centre is a unit that is complete with all the requirements for up to date pre and post weld heat treatment operations whether in the fabrication workshops or insitu on power station or petrochemical construction sites.
The base power unit is a 100 KVA air natural cooled 3 phase transformer, primary windings are delta connected with voltage taps to suit local power supplies, which can vary between 380 volts to 440 volts at 50-60 HZ, set at 415 VOLTS
The secondary of the transformer is connected in star with output voltages of 65 volts phase to neutral & 110 volts phase to phase. The star point or neutral is connected to ground (earth) and also to12 sockets (for “return” connection) each output phase is fed to four contactor units and the output from the contactor unit is connected to “feed” socket. This gives a total of 12 pairs of controlled power outlets.
The coils of the contactor unit (110 volt AC) are switched by a programmable temperature ramp controller which can be set for the required heat treatment profile i.e.. start temp., heating rate, soak temp., soak time, cooling rate. The control unit is capable of controlling 6 zones at the same time. Thermocouple input is via polarised pole sockets.
A temperature recording indicator is fitted to the unit in order to monitor temperatures and provide a temperature profile chart as proof of correct heat treatments.
To monitor normal correct switching requirements and neon signal lights give visible indication.
The whole unit is encased in a wheeled rugged steel case that has a coated surface as a protection against corrosive and abrasive atmospheres which the unit will sometimes be required to operate in.
100 KVA transformer can accommodate thirty six 60volt heating elements i.e. three per channel |
